Hi my name is Maddy. I have been dancing since I was three years old. I remember going to dance class and how I was super excited to try on our recital costumes. I remember having Wendy for the first time and I was worried my mom hadn’t tied my bun tight enough. I remember making it on company and thinking, “How am I ever going to live up to all of these older girls in senior company?” Now I am on junior company and I am proud of my dance career. I also look forward to my future years on company and I would love to thank all my teachers that have helped me over the years.

My name is Amy. I'm 15 years old and I go to Valencia High. I like Dance Studio 84 because I like to dance a lot.  I have been practicing for many years.  It means a lot to me.  When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian because I like animals and I want to take care of baby kitties.

I started dancing at the age of four, while trying to be just like my older sister, Amanda.  She taught me how to put dance in perspective with the rest of my life.  As much as I love dancing and performing, I also love swimming, being with my friends and family, going to church activities, and doing well in school.  I am so glad to have her in my life along with the rest of my family and their support.  My life at the studio is so important to me and will have an impact in my life in many different ways.  All the teachers have taught me how to push myself beyond my expectations and to set a goal and be able to reach it.  I have also built some great relationships with the other dancers that I hope will stay strong throughout my high school years and beyond.  I love this studio and everyone in it. :)

Hi!  My name is Lindsay Burke and I’m a fifteen year old sophomore at Golden Valley High School.  I cannot believe that it has been ten years already!  I love dancing and I can’t imagine my life without it.  Besides dancing, I am part of my schools Speech and Debate team, and love hanging out with my friends.  I remember my first dance class, which was taught by Miss Peggy, though I was more interested in the shiny tap shoes than anything else at the time.  Then I moved to Shannon’s tap and jazz class, and this year my jazz class is taught by Carrie.  I would like to thank all of the teachers I’ve had, especially Shannon for choreographing my solo and being a great teacher all these years.  I also want to thank Carla for having such a wonderful studio and lastly I want to thank my friends and family for always supporting me.

I have been dancing all my life whether it was at the studio or just because I wanted to, even if there was no music.  Dance is the best way to have fun and I never dance without smiling J.  I started here at Dance Studio 84 when I was 3 because my cousin came over to my house and showed me her dance.  I begged my mom to let me dance and was so happy when she did.  A lot has changed since then, but not my love for dance.  I have done hip hop, jazz, tap and ballet throughout my years and loved every bit of it.  I loved all of my teachers that have taught me and all the friends I have made here.  Dance Studio 84 has been like a second home for me because of how much I am here whether it is for me or one of my siblings.  It has been a big part of my life, dancing, and I’m glad it is.

Hi! My name is Brenna and I started dancing at Dance Studio 84 in first grade. I had my first ballet class when I was 6 with Miss Connie and then started a hip hop class after that. Soon, I began taking tap and jazz, and then started dancing in the Placerita dance program. I am now a junior and in my third year on the Hart Dance Team, and I think back to that first ballet class when my dancing started. Now, after ten Nutcrackers, I realize that without Studio 84 I would never be where I am today. I don't know where I'd be without dance in my life. So, thank you so much to all of my teachers--Wendy, Michelle, Connie, and Carla--for being involved in such an important aspect of my life. Also, thank you to my mom, dad, and sister, Kailey, for always supporting me in my dancing, driving me to every class, and sitting through all of my recitals and Nutcrackers throughout the years. I'm so lucky to have been a part of this studio and cannot believe it has already been ten years. I will always cherish the memories I have made dancing with all of my friends and teachers at Studio 84 and appreciate every minute of it. Thanks for all the great times!

My name is Christi Kessler and from the first time I walked into the small studio waiting with my mom to pick my older sister up from ballet, I knew that this is where I wanted to be.  Shortly after, I enrolled, and now still proud to say that I dance at Studio 84.  This is my second home and where I’ve spent a lot of sweaty hours, laughing and working hard. I currently take jazz with Ms. Carrie, but would like to lovingly thank all my past teachers: Ms. Connie, Ms. Wendy, Ms. Shannon, Ms. Carla, and Ms. Shauna, all wonderful and inspiring women; who have turned me into the little kid who couldn’t even point her toe right to the semi-graceful dancer she is today.  I have found the perfect Zen to balance my life with other activities but this is by far my favorite.  Dance Studio 84 is a place full of good and bad memories, memories that I’ll never forget for the rest of my life.  I’m ecstatic to make it this far, and can’t wait for what lies ahead.

Hello, my name is Petyon Lochead.  I am fourteen years old, and a freshman at West Ranch High School.  I have been at Dance Studio 84 for ten years, which is crazy.  It seems like yesterday, when I was four years old, walking into my first dance class, being extremely shy, and not wanting to leave my mom.  Times have changed and I am very glad I was enrolled in dance at such a young age; it has given me balance, poise, good posture and much more.  Throughout the years I have had many memorable times dancing and getting to meet new people in each of the classes I have participated.  I am also a cheerleader at West Ranch High School and other than dancing, I love tumbling at Hugo’s GymFitness, swimming, shopping, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends.  I am grateful and feel fortunate to have such a magnificent dance studio to attend.  Thank you, Carla for creating Dance Studio 84.  Thank you Carrie for helping me develop as a dancer, and person.  I also want to thank the other wonderful teachers I have had over the years.  I love dance and hope I am able to continue dancing for many years to come!

Hey!! I’m Andrea Lopez! I’m 14 and a freshman at West Ranch. It’s amazing how quickly these 10 years have flown by!!  I have been waiting for what seems like FOREVER for my 10th year at the Studio to come…and I can’t believe it’s already here! Let’s start from the beginning…yeah? I remember back when I was maybe 4 years old at Dance Studio 84’s old location and I remember Carla would hold me after almost every class because I would start crying like crazy if my parents weren’t there right when I stepped out the door. Even if they were just sitting in their car waiting for me, I would cry my eyes out. As you can see, I’ve come a long way since then J I think from the very beginning, I had a true love for tap. I love the feeling of putting my tap shoes on and leaving everything out on the floor. And all of the energy that goes along with it just makes everything that much better! It’s the same with jazz—I feel so in control of myself and relaxed, it’s a great feeling to have.  And I would love to give a HUGE shout out to every teacher who has made me the dancer I am today: Carla, Wendy, Shauna, and currently Shannon and CarrieJ I would love to give the biggest shout out to Shannon because I have been with her for quite a while now and it has been the BEST experience!! Thank you to everyone who works at the main desk, you guys are all extremely nice and I really appreciate it!! I would also like to thank my parents for supporting me in everything I do, and I would like to thank my sister, Rebecca, (who is getting her seven year award this year!!) for always hanging in there. J This has been such an amazing experience for me; it has really taught me how to express myself in a way that not many others can—through DANCE.

Hi, I am Hannah Ritchie and I am proud to say that I have been dancing at Dance Studio 84 for 10 years! I remember my first recital, with Carla, in my yellow polka dot bikini.  In the middle of the dance, someone stole my towel and I had to go find theirs.  My parents were so impressed I didn’t run off stage crying and that’s when they knew I was going to be a dancer.  Since then, I have fallen in love with dance and have enjoyed working with Miss Shannon, Miss Shauna, Miss Wendy, and Miss Carrie.  I also feel privileged to work with great dancers and choreographers including Denise, Melissa, Kobi, Alex, Shirlene, and Rob.  Miss Carla, thank you so much for making dance and the studio so amazing for all of us.  Though I was afraid of you when I was 4, now 10 years later you are such an inspiration to me and if it weren’t for you I would not be where I am today.  Thanks a million! Of course to all of my friends at the studio, without you guys dance and life wouldn’t be the same, so thank you! I love you all so much more than you can imagine! Finally, Dad, Harley, and most importantly, Mom, I cannot imagine my life without you. Mom, you are always there for me, and I could not have succeeded in ten years of dance without you by my side. I love you!

My name is Noelle Shalkevich, I am 16 years old and I attend West Ranch High School.  Unlike most people, I like to go to school.  I am a member of ASB and I enjoy all of the challenging classes high school has to offer.  I’m also a major sports girl but would have to say my favorite sport is football!  I also have a passion for ice skating.  I was on a synchronized skating team for 8 years and that was a blast!  I love to dance, especially ballet, and I have enjoyed my years here at Dance Studio 84 so much!  I would like to thank all my dance instructors Wendy, Michele, and Connie for making all my dancing dreams come true.  I really appreciate it!  I would also like to thank my family for allowing me to stick with dance this long.  I love you guys!

Hi! My name is Hannah Smith and I’m a junior at Hart. I started taking ballet at Dance Studio 84 in second grade with my friends after school. Little did I know at the time how dance would become such a huge part of my life. Now, a million ballet classes and ten nutcrackers later, I dance with the Hart Dance Team and I know I could never have gotten to where I am today if it wasn’t for my time at 84. Thank you so much to all the teachers I’ve had over the years... Wendy, Michelle, Connie, and Nancy. These amazing women have been an inspiration to me ever since I learned first position. Thanks to my family for your endless support, love, and for driving me to and from class all these years. I love you so much! I can’t believe I’ve been at the studio for ten years! It has been an unforgettable experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I’ve loved every minute dancing at 84 at I’m so grateful to have been a part of it. Thanks for the memories!

Thank you Mom and Dad for supporting me throughout the years and pushing me to be the best that I can be. Thank you Sammy Spiegel for being the greatest sister ever. Hey! My name is Savannah Sweet! I’m 14 years old and have been dancing at Dance Studio 84 for 10 years! I remember starting in Ms Shannon’s classes back in the day. I even went to my first competition in her class doing a tap dance while wearing a red and white checker costume and a big red bow on my head! Later I started taking more classes with Carla, Wendy, Connie and Shauna and soon joined Company 84. It has been a lot of hard work but the dancing and learning is what makes it so worth every single minute of being at the studio. I also met so many special and crazy friends. I love them all! I also won’t forget all of the funny memories through the years of 84..like putting together Wind It Up costumes and rushing down to compete!! (: Thank you so much Miss Carla, Wendy, Denise and Carrie for always pushing me and encouraging me to try my hardest. I look forward to many more years at the studio and always learning something new. Thank you mom for always being there for me. One more…thanks Sabs for working on my solo even when you’re having a blast on your cruise!

Hi, my name is Rachael White and I have been dancing at the studio since I was four.  I remember loving the “clicky” sound my tap shoes made in Miss Peggy’s class but I hated wearing a bun in ballet! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already!  Dance Studio 84 is not just the studio I dance at, it is my second family and home; I’ve grown up here and made great and wonderful friends. Dancing has become my outlet to express how I feel and when I dance I can leave the rest of the world and just let go. It is my passion and I hope to become a professional dancer when I’m older. Dance Studio 84 has provided me encouragement and a wonderful foundation to become a great dancer if I keep working at it. I am so grateful to all of my teachers and what they have taught me. I would be nowhere without the amazing staff that has helped me reach where I am today. Thank you, Carla, Denise, Wendy, Kobi, Melissa, Carrie, and Shannon for giving me such a strong base in dance. Thank you mom and dad for making my dream of dancing come true.  Thanks to all my family and friends for coming to my many, many performances and encouraging me to become the best dancer I can be.
